The three most important new functions of ARRI SUP 4.0 for Alexa Mini are: internal RAW recording on Fast 2.0 cards, 4:3 sensor readout for anamorphic recording, and a Super 16mm crop that allows Super 16 or B4 ENG lenses to be used on the Alexa Mini.

Arri Raw Recording provides 2.8K resolution at up to 48 fps; the 4:3 sensor readout is also 2.8K (2K DCI in a de-squeezed anamorphic mode at frame rates up to 150 fps). There are now also new 3.2K output functions via dual 1.5G SDI.

WIFI on/off can optionally be assigned to a function button. Focus magnification can now be moved freely in the viewfinder. Lens Mapping (Lens Data Archive) can now be created for older lenses without electronic metadata transmission.

The licences for ARRI Raw Recording and the 4:3 sensor readout are subject to a charge. The price per licence is €2,950.
