Googling during work on set when you need important information about the available technology? Too cumbersome. Through the search on the home page, the Film Tech App offers edited results from practical professionals, presented in text, images, videos or as a table. According to Transfermedia Production Services, the content is updated every three months and is organised into 6 subject areas:
- Basic IT and technology knowledge for film & TV
- an overview of all common video formats
- brief profiles of all common professional cameras
- Post: editing, grading & more
- Data: data management, storage systems and concepts
- Delivery: technical standards for delivery to end recipients such as ARD, ZDF, ORF, Arte, RTL Group, ProSiebenSat.1, BBC/UK, Netflix or iTunes
The Film Tech App is the follow-up publication to the “HD Production Handbook”. It has been available since May in the Google Play Store for Android and for Apple in the iTunes Store for 8.98 euros.
