Maya 2017
With the release of version 2017, Arnold is integrated into Maya as the standard renderer.
There is now also a fully featured 3D toolset for motion graphics. The procedural MASH toolset was already introduced in Maya 2016 Extension 2; it now has an improved node system and fresh options for creating animations and motion effects.
The simulation toolset has also been revised: Maya’s hair and fur system, XGen, receives new interactive Groom Splines that make it possible to create grooms in real time with standard brush-based tools.
With the new BOSS Ocean Surface Simulation Toolset in Bifrost, ocean surfaces can be created from a flat mesh by placing solvers over it, which then influence the surface accordingly.
