The new user interface gives new users easier and more intuitive access to the Lightworks tools. Files can be imported and edited more easily, FX can be added, and the video work can then be exported in all common formats. However, anyone who prefers to work with the old user interace because they are accustomed to this workflow can easily switch it back via a button.

Alongside the new user interface, particularly interesting in version 14 are the newly added Audi and video FX tools for fine-tuning imported video content. Royalty-free premium content from Audio Network or Pond5, among others, can now also be obtained directly in Lightworks. The footage can initially be dragged into the timeline as low-resolution proxy files with watermarks and then, if it is liked, replaced by downloading the material in high quality.
