“Film and Media” degree program
Anyone who wants to take the “Film and Media” degree program (foundation and project studies) should have submitted their documents by February 15. An application requires:
- Proof of a general/subject-specific university entrance qualification and, where applicable, an intermediate diploma, diploma, bachelor’s, or master’s degree (officially certified)
- Proof of 12 months of practical experience in the media field
- CV
- Written justification of the desire to study.
- Work samples matching the respective desired study focuses (animation, image design/camera, montage/editing, or directing)
Career-change studies
For the study focuses of Animation and Interactive Media, the application deadline is May 15, 2015; for all other study focuses, it is likewise February 15. In the Animation focus, applicants can choose the specializations Concept Art, Animation/Effects Director, Character Animation and Effects Artist, as well as Animation/Effects Producer and Technical Director (the application must be submitted in English).

Filmakademie projects
In the upcoming DP issue, which appears on February 17, you can read about the current projects being created at the university in Ludwigsburg. We show how the VES-nominated project “BreakingPoint” and Filmakademie’s first VR film, “Sonar”, were created. The students are also represented in the current DP. In “A Beer and a Monster”, the team shows how they created the animago winner “Face the Darkness”.
