In cooperation with Digital Camera UK, DxO Labs is offering DxO OpticsPro version 9 as a free license. This version is not eligible for upgrades, but runs without a time limit and can be requested from DxO via this link by providing an email address.
Interested parties will then receive a download link for version 9 as well as a discounted offer for the current version 11 (which in turn is valid until March 31). The free UK version of DxO OpticsPro 9 can be used simultaneously on one Windows and one Mac computer.
DxO OpticsPro features
DxO OpticsPro has functions similar to Adobe Lightroom: the software can be used to edit RAW files as well as, of course, all other common image formats; more than 300 camera models and over 950 lenses are supported. DxO’s library of optical modules contains detailed knowledge about cameras and lenses in order to automatically remove distortion, vignetting, and chromatic aberration.
The Lens Softness tool automatically optimizes the overall sharpness of images; with Smart Lighting’s spot mode and its face-detection feature, automatic corrections can be applied usefully. Red eyes are also corrected quickly, and the selective tonal values have also been improved. You can find an overview of all DxO OpticsPro features here.
