The US television series “The Strain” ended at the weekend. Commissioned by television giant FX, Onesize, a motion graphics design studio from Amsterdam, created a graphics package for promos, teasers and countdowns.

Once the concept was in place, Onesize, under the direction of Art Director Chris Coopmans, completed the assignment in two stages. They filmed the live action, between the fluids and the laser-cut FX and The Strain logos, at high speed. For this, they brought Berlin artist Susi Sie on board.

Back in Amsterdam, the Onesize team rebuilt everything digitally apart from the logos and extracted details from the footage. 3D effects provided more depth. Finally, they transferred the textures onto 3D models. The work can be seen in promos, teasers, countdowns and the series itself.
