A preview of the new features for the seventh version of the clothing tool appeared a few months ago. Now Marvelous Designer 7 is officially available. The software is part of many pipelines and projects such as “The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt” or “52 Hz” by Cornelius Dämmrich, who also received an animago trophy for his still last year. More projects realised with the tool can be seen here and in the showreel. Here is a brief overview of the new features.

  • Segment Darts can be created and adjusted on outlines by right-clicking.
  • Internal Lines can be created quickly with a number, offset and distance between two selected curves.
  • Modular Mode for quickly swapping finished parts in order to test different design ideas.
  • Zips can now be added and moved.
  • Seams can be created with real geometry in Marvelous Designer for a higher level of detail and added to the clothing.
