Be Smart with V-Ray Next
Chaos Group has taken a lot from machine learning with its next generation. V-Ray Next has adapted this learning behaviour and now analyses scenes while it is actively rendering.
Adaptive Dome Light
Abbreviated as ADL, this includes cleaner, image-based environment lighting that is also 7 times faster. In addition, ADL eliminates the Skylight Portals that previously always had to be placed manually for windows and passageways. Everyone who deals with architectural interiors in particular can take a deep breath and rejoice at this point.
V-Ray Physical Camera
More intelligence continues with the V-Ray Physical Camera. With automatic exposure & white balance from now on and a simplified user interface, perfect renderings are supposed to feel like snapshots.
Double Speed for GPU Rendering
With V-Ray Next, Chaos Group has implemented its new GPU rendering architecture, which, in short, is supposed to double the speed of production rendering. Because of this significant change, the original name V-Ray RT renderer has even officially changed to V-Ray GPU.
The transition is quite simple. If the user wants to switch to V-Ray GPU in V-Ray Next in 3ds Max, the interface changes at the same time and adapts so that only compatible features are accessible. Driver verification is also present. Sounds almost foolproof…
Swing the Brush!
