IBC 2018 – Adobe Updates Creative Cloud AV Tools

With 57,000 trade visitors, 1,700 exhibitors and around 400 speakers from 170 countries, IBC is one of the world’s most influential media and technology trade fairs.

This year, the focus was specifically on Creative Cloud’s video and audio tools. Try Creative Cloud with the latest updates directly for yourself.
Alongside Audition CC, Character Animator CC and After Effects CC, Premiere Pro CC also received various updates. With the aim of simplifying workflows, increasing creative capabilities and thus improving production efficiency, Adobe presented various improved functions.

Premiere Pro CC– improved performance with hardware acceleration and more powerful tools

  • Colours become part of the editing workflow thanks to Lumetri tools
  • Selective colour grading
  • New “Reduce Reverb” and “Reduce Noise” controls
  • Simplified integration of AR content
  • Media can be viewed on screen as flat images and the content viewed in a rectilinear VR view
  • New spatial markers for efficiently checking 180-degree and 360-degree material in the Adobe Immersive Environment
  • The new integrated format support now supports more recording formats
  • Faster rendering thanks to hardware-assisted encoding and decoding of H264 and HEVC

After Effects CC – performance updates and learning areas for beginners

  • Advanced Puppet Engine for more control over deformations with the Puppet tool
  • Two new pin types for more mesh-sculpting options
  • User-friendly start and learning areas for beginners
  • Responsive Design Time: define areas in which animation timing is retained even when graphics are stretched in the timeline
  • Selective colour grading thanks to new Lumetri colour tools

Audition CC – improved workflows thanks to intelligent effects against noise patterns

  • New effects: DeReverb and DeNoise correct noise patterns without long waits and complicated control settings
  • Visual upgrade: thanks to an improved Colour Ricker, track and clip colours remain consistent – particularly important when working in a team

Character Animator CC – animation (almost) in real time thanks to Characterizer update

  • Edit your own designs in Character Animator CC
  • Characterizer creates unique figures from recorded sounds and facial expressions within a few seconds
  • Updates with new features for replays, softness parameters, improvements in walking behaviour and the magnet function
