No longer in the mood for Final_final_V3_final and superfluous work steps? Even well-organized projects can quickly become chaotic toward the deadline. Technical Artist “Arda Kutlu” is now giving the community a free pipeline tool named “Tik Manager,” which has many helpful functions to offer.

Tik Manager: The Highlights
The pipeline manager can be used on a project- and user-based basis as a standalone version – ideally in a network so that all users can have access. After installation, at the beginning of your project you specify the respective storage location, name (client and, if applicable, brand), as well as the resolution and desired frame rate. Subprojects can also be created. You can then work with your shots in the predefined standard categories (Model, Shading, Rig, Layout, Animation, Render, Other) by creating a “Base Scene” with corresponding settings for each piece of content. Versioning, notes, preview and other functions can then be used to manage your workflow and make it more pleasant. You can also customize the categories in the menu. Attached is a short video on the basics, as well as an overview of the feature highlights:
- Tool support: Maya, 3ds Max, Houdini, Nuke are currently supported.
- Consistent naming: For your scenes/assets and correct versioning
- View and open shots from the supported software
- Animation previews with logging and playback support
- “Project Materials“ – tool for organizing project documents, concepts, references and more.
- Asset Library for organizing your used assets!
- Image Viewer – for quickly viewing rendered images.
- User database for tracking project progress by user
