NeatVideo has long been considered a reference for high-end-quality noise reduction without having to pay high-end prices. Its greatest strength can sometimes also be a weakness, because optimum results require a noise profile for the respective camera. If the recording was well planned, that is not a problem: record an area of neutral surface without detail at identical recording settings, preferably also defocused. Better still is a recording of the test charts from the NeatVideo download. Unfortunately, however, not many noisy recordings are the product of good planning.
