The new brush is based on a physics solver that is applied during the sculpting process. It currently has four deformation modes for controlling the forces. Among other things, it enables editing by “Grab”, “Pull” or “Pinch” of the surface. As can be seen in the clips, the tool can also be used in real time – as long as the brush size and polygon count are not too high.

Anyone who wants to test the tool can find further information on the Developer page of Blender. For some time now, a few users have also provided experimental builds for the sculpting feature – such as here on blender.community.
