Brush Shape Panel changes

Project Dogwaffle revised the Brush Shape Panel in Howler 2020.2. The update reorganised brush presets, added a light preview mode and separated paper-texture behaviour into bump and dry-brush controls. Several presets gained larger brush sizes, while older brushes were replaced with more flexible counterparts.

Fewer presets, clearer choices

Developer Dan Ritchie reduced the number of presets to concentrate on the stronger options and make the panel easier to scan. The practical benefit is less time spent hunting through near-duplicates, always a glamorous part of production.

Paper textures and media storage

Paper textures can be stored with other media and divided between bump and dry-brush settings. The Bristle Brush tool also extends their use. Archived images may be grouped in a dock, and the 2020.2 interface removes legacy-version icons for a cleaner workspace.

Review brush compatibility and saved-media behaviour with representative project files before moving an established painting workflow to this release.
