Adobe previewed Roto Brush 2.0 for After Effects, using Sensei machine learning to improve automated rotoscoping speed and edge propagation.

Occlusion handling

The demonstration showed the brush following a selected subject and recovering when foreground objects temporarily obscured it. The same Sensei platform also supported Content-Aware Fill workflows in After Effects.

Beta availability

No final release date accompanied the preview; Adobe planned to distribute the feature through its public beta programme. Artists should test edge detail, occlusion recovery, temporal stability and render time on representative plates before production use.
