A fictional series, fully formed
A prima ballerina turns inside a jewellery box. A matchbox plants a warning, an armed search party moves through a forest at night, and a burning cabin pays off the earlier foreshadowing. These images shape a compact main-title sequence by motion designer Fabian Aerts.
Until We Fall Down
The sequence was not commissioned for an existing programme. Aerts created the nearly one-minute piece for a hypothetical television series titled Until We Fall Down, using the format as a self-contained exercise in mood, pacing and narrative suggestion.
Aerts had explored similar territory three months earlier in We Were Young. Artists studying the work should test how its shot duration, typography and tonal transitions translate to their own title-design pipeline rather than copying the surface treatment.
