The Stuttgart International Festival of Animated Film streamed its programme daily from 4–9 May 2021, between 14:00 and 22:00.
Family and children’s short and feature films were shown from 14:00, followed from 17:00 by short films, features and animated music videos for adult audiences. Live interviews offered additional insight into the world of animation.
Confirmed feature-film highlights included The Little Magic Flute (Curt Linda, Germany, 1997), an animated adaptation of Mozart’s opera for the family programme, alongside Heidi (2004) and Maya the Bee Movie (2014).
The evening programme included Lisa Limone and Maroc Orange: A Rapid Love Story (Mait Laas, Estonia, 2013), a fruit-themed operatic variation on Romeo and Juliet. The stream also included live interviews and the New World Classic Animation Award ceremony on Saturday at 17:00.
