In brief: Cebas Visual Technology released thinkingParticles 7.0.
New features: Version 7 introduced a Material Point Method (MPM) solver and a grid-based system intended to accelerate physics simulations. A new Cellular node generated volumetric 3D patterns, while a hardware-accelerated DirectX display improved particle viewing in the viewport.
The update also brought revised memory management and multithreading support.
What is the MPM solver? Cebas described the Material Point Method as a stable approach for simulating highly deformable objects with fewer visible artefacts. New operator nodes exposed procedural control over the system. Example applications included granular and deformable materials such as snow and sand.
