In brief: Adobe released Substance Painter 7.3 with 3D Warp, cylindrical projection and an updated colour picker.
3D Warp: The tool non-destructively deformed materials and images to fit existing geometry, such as adapting a scar material to a character’s face.
Colour picker: The updated picker stored colour swatches internally and switched between floating-point and integer values as well as linear and sRGB display.
Cylindrical projection: Fill layers and fill effects could project images or textures around columns, pillars and similarly shaped objects.
The release also included performance changes and an expanded Python interface.
Adobe introduced the feature in its 3D Warp article and documented the update in the version 7.3 notes.
