In brief: Assimilate opened its Live FX real-time compositing software for public beta testing.

Workflow: Live FX targeted greenscreen and LED-wall virtual production as well as rapid composites for location scouting. Features included Unreal Engine Live Link, keying, camera tracking, DMX lighting control and Notch Block integration. The software recorded imagery and incoming metadata for downstream postproduction.

Live FX camera tracking: Assimilate listed support for Mo-Sys StarTracker, Intel RealSense, HTC Vive and smartphone tracking through gyroscopes and ARKit.
Assimilate CEO Jeff Edson positioned Live FX as a central virtual-production component. Strategic-workflows engineer Mazze Aderhold highlighted OSC control and direct GPU texture sharing, along with lower-cost options for independent filmmakers. These were vendor statements.

The beta was available through the Assimilate Live FX page, with tutorials on the company’s Vimeo channel.
