In brief: John Aldred examined DJI’s Ronin 4D full-frame cinema-camera system for DIY Photography.
Integrated system: Ronin 4D combined a Zenmuse X9-class full-frame camera, four-axis stabilisation, LiDAR focusing and wireless video transmission in one unit. The camera was offered in 6K and 8K configurations and was positioned for high-end production.
A promotional video featured cinematographers Rodney Charters and Erik Messerschmidt discussing the system. Their comments were product testimonials rather than independent tests.
