In nuce: Greyscalegorilla, the provider of training and tools for motion designers and 3D artists, has released its Tactile Library. It is equipped with handmade materials for 3D designers who have a Greyscalegorilla Plus membership. This is according to a recent press release.

In toto: The Tactile Library from Greyscalegorilla contains realistic 3D materials for Cinema 4D (Redshift, Octane and Arnold). Five collections consisting of over 200 wood and clay materials were made available at the launch of the library. The five collections are made up of: Clay Fine, Clay Coarse, Clay Sculpting, Clay Doh and Unprocessed Wood. Furthermore, frequently used material channels such as Diffuse, Normal or Roughness are supported, but material properties such as Translucency, Displacement or Optical Reflection are also offered, according to Greyscalegorilla.
Pricing and comments: A Greyscalegorilla Plus membership costs either US$49 per month or US$399 per year (separate memberships are offered for students, teachers and studios). Nick Campbell, founder and CEO of Greyscalegorilla, expressed his enthusiasm for the realistic textures in the same press release. Chad Ashley, Head of Product and Creative Director at Greyscalegorilla, adds how realistically the textures depict physical conditions.
