Audiotrak introduced the MAYA44 as a conventional audio card with broad compatibility for multitrack recording, audio restoration and virtual-synthesiser software. Alongside normal recording and playback, it provided four analogue inputs, four analogue outputs, an optical S/PDIF output, a phantom-powered microphone input and a headphone output.
The optical output also supported AC-3/Dolby Digital and DTS signals. ASIO 2.0, DirectSound, GSIF and MME were available under Windows 98SE, ME, 2000 and XP, and the card was compatible with Cakewalk Sonar.
Audiotrak claimed latency figures of 3 ms with ASIO and 1.5 ms in Sonar when using its E-WDM drivers. The company positioned the MAYA44 and INCA88 for recording and playback situations that required fast response and high-quality audio.
The MAYA44 was also promoted for DJ applications including Alcatech BPM Studio and Visiosonic PCDJ. Its recommended retail price was €179 including VAT.
