The MAYA 7.1 Gold was Audiotrak’s response to the rapidly expanding DVD home-cinema market. The card combined eight output channels, high-quality audio and a common E-WDM driver for Windows 98SE, ME, 2000 and XP. Supported standards included MME, DirectSound, GSIF and ASIO 2.0.
Its optical S/PDIF output could send bit-accurate 44.1 or 48 kHz digital audio to external MiniDisc or DAT recorders. DVD audio could also be passed to an external AC-3/Dolby Digital or DTS decoder. CyberLink PowerDVD was bundled for 5.1, 6.1 and 7.1 DVD surround-audio playback.
ASIO 2.0 and GSIF compatibility also made the eight outputs available to multitrack applications such as Cubase VST. Audiotrak positioned the card as an economical studio alternative to the INCA88 when a large number of outputs was more important than additional input capability.
The recommended retail price was €179 including VAT. Historical product information is available through the Audiotrak archive.
