Yello became the German distributor for PNY high-end 3D graphics cards in June 2002.
The cards used NVIDIA’s Quadro 4 XGL chipset and targeted CAD, animation and effects applications. Drivers were optimised for software including AutoCAD, Discreet 3ds Max and Combustion.
The entry-level PNY XGL700 was announced at under €1,000 and supported dual displays with full DirectX and OpenGL acceleration. The distributor argued that the generation significantly changed the price-to-performance ratio for professional 3D graphics.
Current company information is available from NVIDIA. The hardware belongs to the archive’s 3D workstation coverage.
