Twenty years after John Carpenter’s film The Thing, Vivendi Universal presented a video-game continuation.

A group of American scientists disappeared in the Arctic, prompting a military unit to investigate and search for survivors. The team encountered undead creatures, mutants and spider-like enemies.

Dynamic lighting and shadows reinforced the horror atmosphere, alongside character animation and staged shock moments. The game promised 20 missions for PC, Xbox and PlayStation 2.

Current company information is available from Vivendi. The title belongs to Digital Production’s game-development archive.
