NXN Software released a free Microsoft Office integration for Alienbrain 6.0, adding asset-management functions directly to Word, Excel and PowerPoint menus.
Users could apply automatic version control, check documents into the Alienbrain database and record changes without leaving Office. The integration also exposed messaging and file workflow status.
Alienbrain could therefore cover programmers, artists, designers, marketing staff and managers in the same project. Other integrations included Photoshop, Softimage XSI, Maya, 3ds Max, CodeWarrior, Visual Studio and Microsoft Project.
