The 2003 Animago Awards expanded beyond still images, animation and compositing to accept game design and interactive productions, including DVD design. Digital Production organised the German-language digital-content competition with support from long-term main sponsor Discreet.
The five categories gave artists additional opportunities to present their work to a professional audience. Registration was online, and all entries had to be submitted by 21 March 2003, based on the postmark date.
Awards for the best productions were scheduled for 2 May 2003 during FMX/03 at Stuttgart’s Haus der Wirtschaft. The competition covered animation, compositing, game design, interactive work and still imagery.
