Sharelight 1.5 was designed to manage and control render jobs across a network for LightWave 3D 6.5 and later. Straightforward installation and a clear interface were intended to make complex scenes and large plugin sets manageable. Individual scenes could be prioritised, paused or reordered without losing frames or rendering them twice when a computer crashed or was switched off.

Split rendering distributed even a single very-high-resolution frame across several machines. Textures and other project data were compressed without loss to reduce network traffic, supporting more efficient network rendering.

Project managers could measure render time in MHz-hours for cost control on render farms and individual productions. Sharelight 1.5 was licensed per computer regardless of how many CPUs were used, with processors assignable dynamically or manually. The German- and English-language five-client edition cost €129.
