The devices in the Casablanca Avio range are aimed at home users who pursue video filming as a hobby and would like to enter or switch to digital editing.
A DVD burner has been integrated into the metal housing of the new Avio DVD System. Combined with the proven “DVD-Arabesk” software already known from Casablanca Prestige and Kron, DVD-Rs or DVD-RWs can thus be created that can be played on almost all commercially available DVD players. The special “Whisper Edit” fan concept ensures a significant reduction in operating noise. Using DVD-Dicon technology, DV direct projects can be converted in real time when a DV interface is present (the Avio DV interface can be upgraded inexpensively). The integrated VGA option allows the device to be operated in two-monitor mode, with a choice of using a TV screen or a TV screen combined with a flicker-free VGA monitor.
Macrosystem is offering all customers an upgrade offer in which their Avio system is converted and upgraded with the new hardware and software. Replacing the hard drive is not included in the price, but is generally possible for an additional charge. The price is 749 euros or 1,199 euros with the simultaneous installation of a DV interface.
In addition, there will be a loyalty offer. Avio owners can keep their old device and also purchase an Avio DVD system with a one-time special discount of 20 percent.
The prices of the Avio DVD device series are 1,749 euros at the introductory price for Avio DVD including DVD burner but without DV interface, and 2,199 euros at the introductory price for Avio DVD/DV including DVD burner and DV interface. In addition, there will be a basic model without DV and DVD at the introductory price of 1,299 euros, which can, however, be retrofitted with a DVD burner and/or a DV interface. Another model will contain a DV interface but no DVD burner (introductory price 1,749 euros). The introductory prices are valid until 31.7.2003, after which the price per model increases by 100 euros. Sales of the Avio DVD models start in June 2003.
