NXN has released an integration plug-in for Alias|Wavefront Maya 5. The plug-in adds NXN alienbrain Studio asset-management functions to the 3D application through an additional menu and icons.
As in earlier versions, the plug-in makes core data-management and project-management functions available directly in Maya 5. Without leaving Maya, users can browse asset databases on NXN alienbrain servers, inspect workflow status, and use models or textures via drag and drop. NXN alienbrain Studio displays project files as thumbnails. Its integrated reference manager also simplifies management of models and textures and maintains dependencies between files automatically.
NXN alienbrain Studio integrations are also available for Discreet 3ds max, Softimage XSI, Adobe Photoshop and Microsoft Office. The plug-ins can be downloaded free of charge from the NXN website.
