The new servers are part of a three-year investment program worth approximately 300,000 pounds sterling and supplement seven existing Pinnacle servers and three StreamFactory Media Encoders at the London headquarters. The computers, which are expected to be ready for use from August 2003, offer extremely precise clip playback timing for the optimized presentation of programs and the efficient workflow of a completely digital, tapeless environment. The MSS-900Si servers also leave plenty of scope for future expansion. At Channel 4, all essential program offerings now run through these servers.
