This offers Pinnacle customers who own Pinnacle hardware solutions equipped with Adobe Premiere software (DV500 and Pro-ONE) a low-cost opportunity to switch to Pinnacle Edition 5. Pinnacle Edition 5 is Pinnacle Systems’ new video-editing and DVD-authoring flagship, which was developed especially for semiprofessional users and committed hobby filmmakers and has already received numerous awards from leading trade magazines.
As part of this Power of Five program, interested customers from the Pinnacle DV500 and Pinnacle Pro-ONE product families can purchase the upgrade version of Pinnacle Edition 5 for only 55.- euros*. They also have the option at any time of requesting a trial version from Pinnacle Systems free of charge in order to get to know the software better. Today’s announcement results from the decision no longer to support future Adobe Premiere versions. The existing hardware video-editing solutions from Pinnacle Systems will therefore not work with future Adobe Premiere solutions.
In contrast to competing video-editing solutions, Pinnacle Edition uses both the CPU (Central Processing Unit) and the GPU (Graphic Processing Unit) to process digital video effects. This gives users the necessary computing power to display, for example, five or more full-resolution DV video streams with independent 2D and 3D effects such as DVE, rolling pages, wave effect etc. – all effects that require considerable rendering times with competing products. Likewise unique to Pinnacle Edition 5 is the integrated DVD authoring, which can be operated directly from the timeline. Users therefore no longer need to acquire a separate DVD-authoring solution.

The Pinnacle Edition product family supports Windows 2000, Windows XP Home and Professional. The German-language products have been available since May 2003. Pinnacle Edition 5 is available at the recommended retail price of 799.- euros* and Pinnacle Edition PRO for 999.- euros* from authorized Pinnacle Systems partners.

The Edition Pro hardware upgrade remains unaffected by this.
