RenderMan Pro Server 11.5.3 is now available for Mac OS X 10.3 on G4 and G5 processors. A compatible Macintosh can therefore serve as a render server for calculating 3D images and effects, extending an existing render farm.
RenderMan Pro Server operates as a 3D camera that renders data created in a 3D-animation application. RenderMan Artist Tools provides the Maya user interface on Windows 2000 and XP, Red Hat Linux and IRIX. Mac OS X support for Artist Tools is planned for the near future.
Alongside Mac OS support, the release includes corrections and additions for Windows 2000 and XP, 32-bit and 64-bit Linux, and IRIX 6.5.
