Digital Broadcast Systems in Oberursel has taken over distribution and support for Plastic Animation Paper with immediate effect. The tablet-based animation software is developed by Krogh Mortensen Animation in Copenhagen.
PAP supports paperless production of traditional 2D animation. Artists draw directly on screen with a standard graphics tablet and can view the animation while developing it, without conventional line tests, cameras or scanners.
The software is offered in three editions. PAP:Shareware is effectively free apart from the required shareware fee for regular use, including commercial work. PAP:Broadcast targets PAL video projects and costs 574 euros per licence. PAP:Film is intended for film projects and costs 1,154 euros per licence.
PAP runs on standard Windows PCs with a graphics tablet. A Linux version is in development, while a Mac OS X edition is planned.
