The new VT [4] board uses a 66 MHz PCI bus, adding a preview output, alpha/key output and four-channel audio support to the Integrated Production Suite. Users of the previous version can also purchase the release as a software-only update.
VT [4] adds an integrated title generator in VT Edit and allows live-source events to be incorporated into the editor. Audio functions include real-time compression, distortion, delay, reverb and other filters, 3D positioning of all four channels, and a keyframe-based eight-band graphic equaliser.
PowerPoint and Photoshop support is provided through VGA screen-capture software that can act as a switcher input. The release also adds improved chroma keying with a new spill function, real-time TGA-sequence playback, real-time DV output, previewing in Digital Disk Recorder, QuickTime export, voice-over recording, video stabilisation and improved serverless internet streaming.
The package includes a DVD-authoring bundle and LightWave 8.
The full version with hardware starts at 4,635 euros. The hardware and software upgrade starts at 2,315 euros, while the software-only update starts at 690 euros.
