On this, Harald Schneider, Technical Director at Maxon: “For a

Cross-platform developer such as Maxon, this is welcome news. Since the program code of our products is already more than 95 percent platform-independent, a port can be implemented in the shortest possible time. Intel has also already shown itself in the past to be an extremely agile and committed partner for us as software developers.”

Alongside the version created with Metrowerks CodeWarrior, Cinema 4D has for some time led a “Secret Life” as an Xcode version, so that Maxon was prepared for new adaptations at any time. The first universal binaries for Intel- and PowerPC-based Apple computers are already available internally. Performance-hungry programs such as Cinema 4D or BodyPaint 3D in particular benefit from more processor power.
