Luxology’s 3D software Modo – until now limited to modeling – now also includes painting and rendering functionality. Because the software was rewritten from the ground up, the integration of the three work areas reaches a previously unknown level, Luxology boasts.

The most important features and functions include:

  • improved modelling enables complex meshes to be simplified and optimized
  • details can be created by means of mesh painting
  • the integrated paint tools such as realtime bump mapping and new masking methods enable precise control of the texture
  • optimized Global Illumination with Energy Conservation, Fresnel Effect and Subsurface Scattering

Modo 201 is to be available in the course of the 4th quarter of 2005 at a price of 695 US dollars. The update costs 295$.
