Ikegami Presents Editcam3 at IBC

Previously shown at NAB, the camera is now available

Ikegami is also moving into tapeless acquisition with its new Editcam3 camera. The camera records either to a hard-disk recorder or to FieldPacks, cartridges containing either a hard drive with a current capacity of up to 80 GB or flash memory with a current capacity of up to 10 GB. They can store up to 360 minutes of DV25 footage or 180 minutes of DV50 footage.

Recording formats include DV25, DV50, MPEG50 and JFIF. The data is stored on the media in an MXF container and is immediately available on a computer for editing. Previously, the data could be processed only in Avid systems; using the MXF container now allows multiple applications to access the clips.
