Because of the uncertainty evident in the market about the continued existence of broadcast-capable monitors and corresponding inquiries from users, PTV Professional TeleVision GmbH is offering a workshop titled “Monitordays 2006.” On what are currently two dates in February and March, a two-day workshop on the topic “Use of LCD Monitors in the Broadcast Environment and Their Measurement Technology” is planned in each case. Among other things, the use, alignment, calibration and also repair of LCD video monitors are on the agenda. For this, Erwin W. Lissy, managing director of PTV Professional TeleVision GmbH, has invited well-known speakers from the monitoring and measurement technology sector. Using practical examples, they illustrate both to colleagues from measurement and systems technology and to employees from planning and project development at radio, television broadcasters and production companies how image assessment can be carried out in the broadcast control room now and in the future. All subject areas relating to monitoring – from the workplace screen to the MultiViewer and especially LCD technology – are to be discussed extensively. The dates of the workshop in Henstedt-Ulzburg are February 08 and 09 as well as March 08 and 09. A registration form and the agenda can be found online at http://www.tamuz.tv/monitordays.
In view of the workshop character, the organizer would like to limit the number of participants per date to eight to ten people. Places are assigned according to the First-in-First-come principle. A later repeat is planned if required.
