Realviz announces the start of delivery for the new version of its StoryViz 3D previsualization tool for the end of February. StoryViz is intended to enable directors, VFX supervisors, animators and artists to plan and prepare every film sequence in real time and with the highest degree of detail.

DP tested the first version of the program in issue 05:05; version 2 now expands its range of functions with new features. Among other things, the FBX format is supported and OBJ and GBX files can be transferred into the application by drag & drop. The program now also imports camera data and image planes from MatchMover Pro, allows characters to be designed directly in Maya and 3ds Max, and can work with animated textures.

StoryViz runs under Windows XP/2000 and is offered for 990 euros. A demo version of StoryViz 1 is available for download from the Realviz website; a demo of the successor version is due to follow at the end of the month.
