DVC developed ClipRecorder AV for uncompressed HD projection and high-resolution multiscreen presentation of material such as commercials at exhibitions and corporate events. The disk recorder supports television and VESA formats up to 2K and can also play MPEG-2 and WMV clips in real time.
Analogue and digital video and audio interfaces are provided alongside DVI outputs. Presentation-oriented controls include new operating software, a local function display and a jog/shuttle panel. Remote control uses RS-422 with standard protocols or a network web interface. Clips can be imported over Gigabit Ethernet, while QuickTime, AVI, WMV and MPEG files play without conversion.
The system uses SAS server technology and can be configured with SATA or SAS disks to match performance requirements. ClipRecorder AV-2K with a 2 TB disk array, storing approximately five hours of uncompressed HDTV, cost €13,900. The SD version with 1 TB, sufficient for around 12 hours of PAL, cost €9,300. The compact 4U chassis supports up to 4 TB of internal storage.
DVC also offered other ClipRecorder models through ClipRecorder 2K and announced 1080p50 recording and playback for the top system.
