Avid Acquires Sundance

Sundance, a specialist in broadcast automation software, now belongs to Avid

In the run-up to NAB, Avid Technology reported that it had acquired Sundance Digital Inc., based near Dallas, Texas (USA), for approximately 12 million US dollars in cash. Sundance specializes in developing control software for broadcast-operations-related equipment such as broadcast video servers and graphics systems.

Sundance Digital’s product range includes, among other things, the broadcast operations products Titan, FastBreak NXT Automation and FastBreak NXT XPress, Intelli-Sat, Digital Delivery Management System (DDMS), NewsLink and Sundance Seeker. Sundance control systems already work with various Avid broadcast solutions such as MediaStream, Avid iNEWS, Deko, DekoCast, Thunder and AirSpeed.
