The Bavarian Academy for Television (BAF) in the Munich suburb of Unterföhring is expanding its educational offerings with a new “3D Animation + VFX” degree program.
The program is intended to teach techniques of 2D and 3D animation, how to use software such as Cinema 4D, Maya and Shake, basic knowledge of image and sound recording technology, but also aesthetic judgment of images and dramaturgical knowledge.
As part of the program, a DVD with work samples will also be created in collaboration with participants from other degree programs such as editing and camera.
After completing the ten-month program, graduates are expected to find positions as VFX artists at broadcasters, film production companies and postproduction houses.
The program runs from October 4, 2006 to July 27, 2007. The application deadlien is May 31. There will be an admissions test in June. The price is 6500 euros if paid in advance. The number of participants is limtied to 16.
