With FrameCycler DI, Iridas is presenting a new version of its 2K/4K playback software that is now also network-capable. This makes it possible to control the software remotely over a network. This also includes the option of using lookup tables on both sides for correct display. In addition to Framecycler’s playback qualities, it is possible to add live comments or paint directly into the player image. FrameCycler DI also contains the primary color correction from SpeedGrade onSet, whose color-correction data the user can later transfer to SpeedgradeDI for finishing.
Another new version of FrameCycler is the FrameCycler Venue System. This pure player is designed for pure performance and enables playback of uncompressed 10K footage in real time. The image size is practically unlimited at the upper end and is restricted only by the data throughput of the storage medium used. This software is intended for use in presentation technology, museums and amusement parks.
The two FrameCyler versions are available immediately; prices are available from Iridas on request.
With SpeedGradeHD, the manufacturer is announcing a new version of its color-grading software for Mac and PC. The functions of the software are intended to be the same as with SpeedGradeDI, but the maximum resolution of the images is limited to 1.920 x 1.080 pixels. All color-correction, mask and metadata can be transferred to SpeedgradeDI or rendered directly in SpeedgradeHD.
SpeedGradeHD can work directly with AVI and Quicktime files and thus competes with the Finaltouch software on the Mac. A release date for SpeedGradeHD is not yet known; according to unofficial estimates, the price is to be under 10.000 euros.
