Chyron’s most important new product at NAB is called Lyric Pro: The software for animated 2D and 3D broadcast graphics is based on the company’s InterFuse technology and brings a number of new functions.
Even during playout, the user can influence the scenes with Lyric Pro and combine several scenes with one another. With the help of Intelligent Transitions, he can link animations with one another or make them dependent on one another. Lyric Pro plays Persistent Objects as independent loops. 2D and 3D elements can be combined in every scene. The new version contains several 3D DVEs and real-time particle effects and a live audio mixer. Output can be in SD or HD.
Lyric Pro runs, for example, on the new HyperX system, which is available immediately at prices starting at around 55.000 euros.
Channel Box is an HD/SD Turnkey Branding System on which Lyric Pro can also run. It includes a series of 2D and 3D real-time effects for creating crawls, tickers or promos. Chyron showed Channel Box for the first time at IBC 2005 and is shipping the system immediately. It can be operated both as a stand-alone machine and integrated into an existing playout system. The interface is easy to use. The software arranges events for final playout clearly on a timeline, from where they can be easily edited. The system is designed for output in SD and HD and can integrate live video. The starting price amounts to around 30.000 euros.
The new HX200 is an HD/SD Character Generator that can also incorporate 3D objects and video clips. However, only older versions of Lyric run on this system, not the new Lyric Pro. According to Chyron, HX200 is intended as an entry-level system for quickly creating broadcast-ready contributions. The so-called „Intelligent Interface Control Protocol“ integrates the system into existing studio infrastructures. A database connection feeds it with up-to-date information, if necessary, right up to the last second.
Optionally, the system can be expanded to two channels and supplemented with a clip layer. The starter package is around 30.000 euros and is available immediately.
