Anixe HD: New satellite channel in HDTV

The feature-film and entertainment channel Anixe HD can now be received in full HDTV standard via the Astra satellite system

SES Astra has signed another contract for the broadcast of an HDTV channel. Effective immediately, Anixe TV is broadcasting the German program Anixe HD unencrypted via the main orbital position 19,2° East. The feature-film and entertainment channel broadcasts in the high-resolution HDTV standard in DVB-S2 and MPEG-4 AVC.

Anixe HD promises to broadcast exclusively image material that was either originally produced in HD 1920 x 1080i or comes from 35-mm film. The accompanying sound runs in the Dolby Digital 5.1 multichannel sound format.

Viewers had already been able to receive a forerunner of the program as a program loop since April 1, 2006.

Anixe TV from Mannheim has on the operation of digital niche channels

specialized. The company gained experience with the travel-shopping channel

“lastminute.tv” and the music channel “musikpark.tv”. The in-house

broadcast department developed the specific playouts.
