With Xpress Pro 5.5 and Mojo SDI, Avid today launched the latest members of its Digital Nonlinear Accelerator (DNA) product family worldwide.
Avid Xpress Pro 5.5 includes tools for video, audio, film, effects and encoding, as well as software for creating music. The new release now provides HD capabilities for both Mac- and Windows-based systems. The software supports native HDV and DVCPRO HD for ingest, editing and output, as well as real-time effects and Avid DNxHD encoding. This allows the user to create effects, dissolves and titles in uncompressed image quality. Avid’s Open Timeline also enables HDV, DVCPRO HD and Avid DNxHD formats to be mixed with SD and DV media in real time in the same timeline, thus avoiding the time-consuming process of converting media from different sources.
Avid Mojo SDI works seamlessly with Avid Xpress Pro and Media Composer software. Mojo SDI is a portable SDI I/O device that offers both digital interfaces and the analog connections of the Avid Mojo, allowing most professional cameras and decks to be connected. Avid Mojo SDI is connected to Mac and PC via FireWire. Mojo SDI also has SDI I/O and AES/EBU digital audio I/O in order to use the high quality of SD cameras and decks.
Avid Xpress Pro 5.5 costs 1832 euros. Owners of Avid Xpress Pro 4 or 5 packages can upgrade to version 5.5 for 46 euros, available as a download from the Avid Store. Avid Mojo SDI costs 2783 euros. All prices mentioned already include VAT.
