One year after the release of PFClean, The Pixel Farm has presented version 2 of the film-cleaning software. Six new tools have been added that primarily fixes severe damage.
De-warp The tool corrects distorted film material and can also work in individual colour channels.
Colour Balance Serves to balance the tonal values of an image and restores the colour histogram. It can also be applied to an entire sequence.
Tear repair To use this tool, the film must first be repaired with tape and then scanned in its entirety.
Missing/Damaged Frame replacement Through interpolation from the preceding and following frame, this tool calculates the correct point positions of the missing or damaged frame.
RGB channel realignment The tool brings the RGB channels back into alignment. It is suitable for video material, but its main area of application is colour-separated films.
Colour correction A simple colour correction to further optimise film clips.
PFClean 2.0 supports Linux, Windows XP and Mac OX 10.4.7 (PowerPC/Intel).
The multiprocessor single-node licence costs 12,999 pounds,
unlimited multi-node rendering 4,999 pounds. The PFClean Restoration Pack is available for 3000 pounds. The upgrade from version 1.5 is free.
