Editing-card specialist Blackmagic is presenting two new cards for processsing HDMI video signals called Decklink HD Studio and Intensity at its IBC stand (7.526).
Both cards have an HDMI input and output. The input can be used to record and output all non-copy-protected HDMI signals up to 1080p/24p or 1080i/59, 94 respectively, uncompressed. These cards cannot process copy-protected signals such as those supplied by a Blu-ray or HD-DVD player.
When outputting two HD signals, the user can also apply some effects in Final Cut Pro HD and Adobe Premiere in real time. While Intensity is designed as a pure HDMI card, Decklink HD Studio also offers analogue inputs and outputs. Here the user can choose between YUV (HD and SD), S-Video and composite.
The audio side offers two channels XLR balanced analogue and two channels AES/EBU I/O.
A serial connector enables deck control by means of RS-422. The cards support 4:2:2 for analogue YUV signals and 4:4:4 for RGB.
Intensity will cost 249 dollars, while Decklink HD Studio costs 995 dollars. Both cards are to be available in September.
